Develop Your Spiritual Side

In a study of older adults, those who had an interest in cultivating their spiritual lives tended to experience fewer hospitalizations and require less long-term care compared to peers who weren't spiritual. Develop your spirit in the manner that fits your beliefs, be it attending religious services, meditating, or spending quiet time in nature.

Religion, spirituality, and acute care hospitalization and long-term care use by older patients. Koenig, H. G., George, L. K., Titus, P., Meador, K. G., Archives of Internal Medicine 2004 Jul 26;164(14):1579-1585.

Approach Your Workout with Self-Assurance

People who work out with confidence derive greater benefits from exercise, research suggests. And people who perceive exercise experiences positively are probably more likely to stick to their fitness programs compared to people who approach exercise with negative feelings.

Change Personal History

By Roger Ellerton Phd, ISP, CMC, Renewal Technologies www.renewal.ca

Your thoughts in the present create your future and are based on your past memories. How useful is it to continue to penalize yourself in the present and future because someone hurt you way in the past. As a child we often take responsibility for the actions of others. Is it not time to let it go and create a more compelling future?

In addition, have you ever misinterpreted an event or conversation simply because you did not have complete knowledge of what was happening? As a child you determined your feelings and views on life based on the adults around you, while not having complete knowledge of the pressures faced by these adults or their personal limitations. With this as your frame of reference, is it not possible that you misinterpreted the past. You can not change what actually happened. You are however in charge of your memories and hence you can reassess the past and use it as a resource rather than a limitation.

Many NLP techniques give you the opportunity to ‘change your personal history’ by adding additional resources to the ‘younger you’ in a past memory or by reassessing a past memory with all of the resources and understanding of the adult you are today.

And NLP is Much more than that!

Golfers

Two men were out playing golf on a nice Saturday afternoon. They were getting frustrated because the two women who were playing right in front of them were quite slow, and were holding up the men's game.

"Don't they know they're supposed to let us play through?" asked the first man.  The other man shook his head. "I'm going to go ask them if we can play through," said the first man, emphatically, "Enough is enough."

He started walking over toward the women, but as he got close, he suddenly turned around and came back, white as a ghost.

"Oh God," he said to his friend, "This is awful. You're going to have to ask those women if we can play through. You see, one of them is my wife, and the other is my mistress."

The other man shrugged, and said "No sweat." He walked over toward the women, and just as he was getting close, turned around and came running back to his pal. His eyes wide open, he said, "Small world!"
